This is a very good question, and the answer may change over time, but so far it's Bend in the Road. I listened to it maybe four times back when, but then I somehow forgot about it. I love the melody and the vocals, and really everything about it. It is very personal for me because I could relate to the lyrics somewhat.
I like my live in the moment and day by day way of being, but I had that period of being afraid of getting married, and I was looking too far ahead (and behind too). It would make us so tense to always know what is going to be in the future, and looking back too much can make you become jaded about things. Then there is the hiker in me, and I have to tell ya, there is nothing at all in the world like a trail that is shrouded in trees n stones n rocks n ravines n ups n downs n turns. The times I have walked my suburban neighborhood or a paved path shaped like an oval where you could see the whole thing....monotonous. When you can see the whole thing there is no wonder, no surprises.
It sounds like there is a "baby" in the lyrics, and I just love songs with that or "babe". I have a playlist called "baby and babe", and only songs with one or the other (or both) are allowed on it. The reason I said "sounds like" is because the "b" in baby is not strong. It could have been a maybe, but I think it is baby. There's another song that has baby in it too. Speaking of lyrics, the lyrics that came with the CD don't completely match up with the vocals. This is why I don't know for sure whether CC sang baby or maybe. I didn't check all the songs to see if the lyrics were different, but they were on the handful I checked.
I love and hate Let Your Eyes Wander. It really is a beautiful song, but it makes me cry. It's like CC is channeling my husband's thoughts when we broke up back when we were dating. It's almost too painful to listen to, but there is a certain joy in it in that it reminds me of being forgiven and what it is to love and be loved.
I love Before We Disappear too. I only just recently started loving it so I have yet to figure out why.
Circling is quirky in a sweet way, and I like the dog reference in it. There's always got to be a dog somewhere! Remember this? "See how the black dog grins in the diamond light". I always love the songs with dogs in them.
I love the melody of Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart. Last week I was looking at the Billboard mainstream rock chart, and it was #8. Edit: I just changed that from night to week. Last night it was #5.

When I first heard Bend in the Road (acoustic live) I instantly loved the song and knew that it would be an amazing song no matter how it was recorded. In many ways I still prefer the stripped down acoustic version after having heard and loved this song so much in its bare form.... but the album version is also amazing. The song definitely deserves more than simply being a bonus track. I also feel that Misery Chain and Wrong Side deserve to be more than bonus tracks. I didn't like the version of Misery Chain featuring Joy Williams.... but the Higher Truth version is outstanding.
I really can't choose a favourite track. It would be easier to say which track is my least favourite but I do still enjoy it. For me 'Only These Words' is the weakest track.

yeah, its pretty hard to just pick one.....thats why i said "tracks" in the title.....i think i mentioned like 8-9 songs in my initial post....lol Just thinking about it now though, if i had to pick what i think the best track on the album is....I would probably pick Bend In The Road..... Its kind of like that track on the album that feels like "When Im Down" did on EM.

A track that was a grower ..... which is now one of my favorites (seems like paractically evey track on the album is a personal favotire) is Only These Words..... "starring at the tiny face, of a miracle she made. She wouldl say i love you....." "who is that thief hiding in the dark, just a little girl who stole his heart. He wouldl say i love you....."
...its a beautiful thing.....ah yeah babe....
"6 o’clock A.M The alarm rings out Awoken from the dream No more castle down a long road No more kings and no more queens But she’s a princess none the less And a handsome prince is what she’ll get
He will say I love you He will say I love you He will say I love you He will say I love you He will say I love you
