Chris Cornell has posted the following on his twitter page:
"Last day of recording solo album! Thanks Brendan, Tom and Kyle. We made the magic happen."
I look forward to hearing new music - hopefully he will feed us some snippets or a song or 2. I wonder when we can expect to spin the album?
I will post any updates here - please do likewise if you hearing any more news!
Cheers!

Awesome news! I wonder what it'll sound like... can't wait to check it out! I thought I heard somewhere he was thinking of doing a stripped down / acoustic album. Not sure where I heard that or whether there is any truth to it. Eagerly awaiting any news or tasty teasers!

I like Chris' quote "we made the magic happen" ...... lol....Im looking at it very optimistically. As in Cornell had just finished listening to all the recordings and the first thing that came to his mind was "daaamn!! We just made some magic mah brothas..." You know it gotta be good.
I just hope he wasnt thinking he made magic with Carry ON. After the anticipation i had for that one, after giving it a few spins i was actually contemplating getting home, grabbing the cd and playing frisbee with the fireplace.
I really like that song Bend In The Road he played at a couple of his acoustic shows last year. I would think that one would be on here. Personally i would hope he does a lil "soul singing" on this one.
as far as his last one, (Scream) I liked it. I know alot of people couldnt get passed the Timbaland/music factor but the songs themselves i thought were really good for the most part.

I just want to hear this magic!!!
Yeah Bend in the Road is great. It deserves a spot on an album. I'm sure everyone has heard it but just incase you haven't check it out on youtube:
Euphoria Morning and Songbooks are perfect. Even though I have never really got into Scream I enjoy some of the songs. I just don't enjoy Timbaland's input and feel that the album could have been far better with a different producer / collaboration. Ground Zero acoustic, Two Drink Minimum, Long Gone (rock version) and Never Far Away (rock version) show a different side to the album. Plus there are other bonus tracks.
Carry On also has some ok songs although I must admit I have not listened to the album in a very long time - it aint great, especially after Euphoria Morning. His cover (especially acoustic) of Billie Jean is excellent. I still remember watching Casino Royale in the Cinema (back in 2006) and Chris Cornell's vocals on the soundtrack making my spine tingle.

Those are acually my favorite tracks off of Scream....Long Gone,Never Far Away,Ground Zero, Scream ...and definitely Two Drink Minimum which doesnt even feel like its part of the album. Carry On had some alright songs but half of them seemed to sound the same and most seemed kinda uninspired....I dunno...I just think Chris is a charismatic singer and that album lacked his charisma. I dunno...i just have a good feeling about this next one.
if all the starts aligned right for us SG fans ...we'd get the Cornell solo later in the year...and the BMF 25th yr. aniv. box set and new album in 2016.

^ Thanks for linking up the studio version of Heavy is the head. I actually like it better than the performance that was on Letterman. The first 40 secs. or so might have been musically written by Chris? It's soundgarden like with The Reverend delivering some awesome low end vocals. Scrambled.

I can't wait to hear it. I remember him saying a while back that his next album would be like Songbook but with new original songs. I haven't heard any release date yet.

Not for nothin', those 3 brothers standing next to Chris look suspect. They look more like peeping Toms than music producers...
Last time i seen a mug like one of those was on a flier.
I just wanna hear some of this magic.
