Awesome news! I can't wait to hear the latest creation and what direction it takes. I'm guessing this might be the stripped down acoustic album that has been rumoured. I wonder when we will get to hear the first teaser clip or single? ...All of a sudden September feels like miles away! It is crazy - I was lying in bed early hours of this morning, unable to sleep and thinking about the release date for the new solo album. I must have been tuned into the right 'waves.' I was even thinking of having a competition to see who could pick the closest date.... well that idea is redundant now! I was also trying to come up with suitable album names for Soundgarden's 2016 album. Who knows maybe I should try and do this more often! HaHa

Bend in the Road is awesome - it definitely deserves an official release! I hope it makes it on the album! In case someone hasn't heard the song or simply wants a refresh:

Bend in the Road. Ah yeah babe. First, the Rev serenades n razzles and dazzles on the harmonica, then scrambles ya up with the vocals and words. Dem Aussie blokes (said with luv) and Zealanders always get first dibs on the new tour. Good day, Bob's yer uncle. But summertime for them is winter time here in the states. Chris is gonna do some deep dives at the Great Barrier reef, snag a shark, then cook him on the beach... all while strumming and getting ready for the shows. Ah yeah babe. So it will probably be 2016 for his tour here? Can't wait to hear the new songs, snippets as they're released!

Talk of Bend in the Road got me thinking.... maybe Cleaning my Gun could be on the new album also. However I guess it is on the Songbook album so maybe it won't be a contender. Who knows!!

So awesome that Chris is coming back to do shows in Australia, I'll definitely be getting tickets - can't wait! It'll be so cool hearing his solo stuff and Audioslave tunes, along with SG stuff!

Good lawdy. First back in the day the Rev got flung off his harley and into the air like a gymnast dismounting from the rings, and now the brotha almost bit the bullet. This woulda been downright heartbreaking. Stick to lyrics and songs mah brotha. Thanks for the link, good interview.

Click here for the story. They really went to town with the puns! Great to hear a tid-bit more on the album - I guessed Brendan would probably score the job! About 4 months to go... assuming Higher Truth is released in September. The ocean can be a dangerous place down under... a lot of tourists & people from overseas underestimate the power of the currents. Your more likely to drown then get eaten by the jaws ...but don't let any of that put you off!

The tour blurb describes the album:
"Higher Truth, his fifth solo studio album to date.... reflects an expressive intimacy similar to that of Songbook, while also displaying his evolution and growth as a master craftsman songwriter. This new powerful addition to his catalogue will be released this September."

The lyrics to a new Chris Cornell song titled “Dead Wishes” were unveiled at Apple’s WWDC event today. The track will appear on Cornell’s new album Higher Truth, set for release 18th September. Staring in the mirror with two borrowed eyes
Looking for the part of me that’s still alive
Waiting for my chest to fall…and rise
Standing in the corner With my shirt tucked in
Summer turns to autumn winter turns to spring
And it all flies by…like a speeding train
Dead wishes on a broken chain
White roses in a dead man’s dream
Down and out with nothing to lose
If these long dead wishes
Ever do come true
Waiting for the night to come and chase away
All the flies gathering around my head
With my memory for a pillow
And all my regrets for a bed
Dead wishes on a burning lake
White roses from my soul to keep
Down and out with everything to win
If my long since sunken ship
Ever does come in Chris' handwritten lyrics:www.facebook.com/chriscornell/photos/a.116887764686.94354.5052659686/10153346134584687/?type=1&theaterjeffgardensg.squarespace.com/new-damageblog/2015/6/8/chris-cornell-lyrics-dead-wishes
