“Night Surf” is an instrumental piece written, performed, and recorded by Ben Shepherd, and used as the soundtrack companion for a film short directed by Henry Shepherd. The work ran as an opening to Soundgarden’s live shows during the ’94 Superunknown U.S. tour only, and otherwise had never been available, or shown since, until now. Those who were in attendance, and attentive to the intro at a Soundgarden concert during this tour have been the only ones fortunate enough to view and hear “Night Surf”. The song had never been released before, and now it is newly remastered for the ‘Echo Of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across the Path’ box set collection of non-album tracks, and rarities. The film had been buried in storage, and only recently was it located, dusted off, and remastered for its debut here, online, or anywhere after 21 years!” – Kim Thayil soundgardenworld.com/watch-soundgardens-haunting-unreleased-night-surf-video/www.rollingstone.com/music/premieres/watch-soundgardens-haunting-unreleased-night-surf-video-20150512vevo.ly/qUG71z

Thanks for sharing. The track definitely has Ben's signature all over it. Is it just me or does the video version differ from the Echo of Miles version? I haven't got my CD handy to compare but i thought I could hear some differences. The video has some of the same footage which is cut in and out of the My Wave music video. I love the track but not the video.... it just doesn't match the song at all and certainly not the kind of imagery I get when listening to this track! The blueman at the beginning of the video looks like Billy Corgan has come to haunt us with his evil anti-soundgarden plot!

This is so cool! I remember seeing it on youtube videos of shows from 1994, I was wondering if it was ever going to be released!
