Yeah.....I cant think of an album that was so good yet bashed like that.... I had made a post about this in the old forum......Every single person that i played that album for WHO WASNT FAMILIAR WITH CORNELL loved it. Im talking from 60+ year old suburban parents, to late teen to mid 20's aged girls of all races....to 45 year old black street guys from harlem to my ex who was a colombian in her late 30's at the time..To my other friends that are just casual music listeners....Every single person i played it for LIKED it. I would just play it and have people ASKING ME "who is that" .....That was the "real world" test... Every single freakin demographic liked it. Only people flipping were the rock fans....and critics, many of whom are hipsters and jerk offs. .....and for a rock guy like Cornell to make an album like that in a completely different genre that such a wide variety of people liked, it shows his talent. The brothers up in harlem, they liked the music....but it was the voice that sealed the deal. They heard Cornell, they knew the brother had soul. That album is awesome. Now i get why people bashed it....cause it isnt there thing....but the fact that it isnt there thing doesn't make it bad. That was an awesome album. One track after another...No filler....Not only wasnt there any filler, he threw in Two Drink Minimum on top of it. I dont know about reviews.....I know what i saw in the real world...and they gave it an "A". I guess you can label me a jerk off then, because that album was a bunch of bullshit imo. I guess he deserves credit for trying something new, but that's about it. Also, I talked to real people in the real world who didn't like this album.

Scream was fine. Different from his usual stuff, yes. But nothing wrong with it. He took way more bashing for that album than he deserved.

God, some of this gossip is really infuriating if you've seen it online. The stuff people say about Vicky is just so messed up to me. People in comments sections of articles act like they know how this guy felt about his own fucking wife.

Did anyone else attend TOTD Philadelphia, November 4, 2016? He seemed impaired to me or at least different from how he was during the other concerts I attended starting in early 2013. I was concerned and even prayed for him over it, all the while hoping I was misreading him. I saw them at the end, in Seattle. If you don't mind talking about it, may I ask what, specifically, made you question if he was impaired? I apologize in advance if it's upsetting to consider...

One of the future collaborations that surely would've been amazing was more with the Avetts. They bookended their Orlando House of Blues show with CC tributes. Seth Avett, gorgeous version of Preaching the End of the World: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ux5Lz_N0h0o

It's a weird feeling to mourn someone you don't really even know....to leave his wife and kids he must have really been in an awful way that fateful night...in a way I sort of hope he had it planned and not just a mental spur of the moment decision that cannot be undone

Been trying to celebrate Chris' artistry the best I can. Picked up Louder Than Love and Badmotorfinger on vinyl yesterday, and they both sound brilliant. Listened to them back to back, and some songs really were emotional for me, Mind Riot especially. I've always loved that song, but listening to it now, it takes on a new sense of poignancy. Soundgarden will always be the most important band for me, I've got so many memories and feelings attached to their work, and I'm just so lucky and grateful that I stumbled upon the video for Black Hole Sun on TV early one morning in 2012. My obsession with their awesome music, and everything Chris related began at that point.

Wow, Chris looks especially gorgeous in that vid. Haven't seen it in a long time. Ah, happier times... Thanks for posting, jayseek

Sigh. Lolla '92. I had once read that Chris and Eddie went sliding down the muddy lawn like the rest of the fans. Think it was after Soundgarden's set. And all these yrs later; here's the proof

Matt had an Instagram but deleted all the pics a few months ago. Ben has one too, but inactive. Not sure about fb. Chris has not mentioned his parents for awhile. They are both alive but not very present in Chris's life, especially once he married Vicky. Ben didn't go to the funeral either? I'm worried about him. He almost killed himself when SG broke up. He must be completely devastated. I hope someone's looking after him.
