"on the shelf" This is preposterous. Loud music and bodies flying back then. No one thought to record. One advantage of technology today, though i'm not always keen to it. Man, I"m getting old, but I did see SG on the 96 tour. East coast style though. I believe about the sound issues cuz i think when my show was done, Chris smashed his guitar as soon as the band walked off stage. The last song performed was No Attention. None of that we love you (the crowd) and a long drawn out ending. the boys played/paid no attention and just walked off stage. Ah yeah babe

I couldn't agree more with all of you...these live shows should definitely be officially released, pronto. And all of the videos you guys have posted are some of my all time favourites. The Japan '94 show is freakin' phenomenal from start to finish. The clips from the Calgary '94-Hype show are amazing as well, I can only imagine how the rest of the gig would be mind-blowing. Nick-- the vids you posted are awesome. That I Awake performance is simply insane! Chris killing it, totally bad ass. These shows should all be available and released so we can watch them 24-7. I know I would...

I love the intro for Searching from Hype. I wish they would do it that way live. If I could make a set list, this version would definitely be on it.
And I Awake is unbelievable from that show.

They've done it that way live before, just not in a long time.
The song is played live in drop D, and on the album in drop B, however the thing is, the intro is always played in the same key on both, as well as the 2-chord buildup before the main riff comes in, which is why the live/album versions sound so different from each other when the song kicks in. The live version sounds like it gets higher when the main riff comes in, because it does. On the album version the first note of the main riff is actually the same note (!) as the last note of the intro, while live there's a difference of 3 half-steps, going from A to C, and 5 half-steps from the A to the D which is the note played the most in the main riff.
As for the exact way you're talking about, with the vocals, that was done in 1994 and 1995 but I don't think it's been done like that since.

I have a bootleg of their gig in Paris 94 and their sound is incredible. Cornell's vocals are on fire. The ferocity of his voice is pant-wettingly astonishing. The recording isn't brilliant but standouts are SWMGEC, BHS, LS and MR. No video though. Likewise with the Sydney gig.
I-5 underwhelms me because of Cornells vocals. He's ragged pretty much throughout. The exception is BHS where he plays alone and lets rip in the 2nd chorus.

During SU, (others will say BMF...but for me its the Cornell of 94-95...plus the added material to boot) Cornell was in inhuman beast mode. There has to be documentation of this for release. Something from 92-95 shouldve been out there long ago. Theres like absolutely nothing... There has to be this stuff in the archives.
Don't forget about Paris 92. CC is full on beast mode flawless! Ben is other-worldly, Kim and Matt are killing it!

It would be great if you could share this with fellow knights. If you need any help uploading the bootlegs, I'm sure someone could help out.

Can you upload this bootleg and share with us? I'm not sure how to that. I think I downloaded from a South American site, possibly an Audioslave/Cornell one or perhaps Jeffgarden.com. I have it on my iTunes but believe it may be too big to upload. I'm a complete dunce when it comes to this sort of stuff! The bootleg is not a soundboard recording but an audience one, however it still sounds ok. Chris's vocals were really on top form.
