Kim does the best he can. The other guys have to want to make a darker
heavier album because it's in them. If there is no fire in them to do it
then I will take most of what ever is created.
KA, I agree overall it was not loaded with big songs like in the past.
Nothing on KA stands up to what was on DOTU and my expectations were
higher than normal. Hopefully SG will make another Album that is a
mixture of all there work geared towards the heavy.
Chris can still belt out some decent vocals, especially during certain
songs like Beyond the Wheel. The rest, like Matt with Pearl Jam, I feel
actual helps because he's always getting better with the more he does.
Ben can be a force, towards the dark side also. The more heavy intense
bass that Ben employs can add the twisted sound that is needed. Kim has
some of the best riffs I have ever heard. Also more guitar solos would be
welcomed.

Yeah, we definitely need some news....even a tiny little something would do. What I do is check for new pics of individual members (mostly CC), and every once in a while an old one I have never seen pops up. This happens because I change the search term. The other thing I do is listen to the playlist I made based on their 1/27/13 concert. It helps me feel a little more connected....but only temporarily. I don't like the 'silence'.

What’s the status of Soundgarden now? [Their last album, King Animal, came out in 2012.] We’re on a writing break now. We’re going to reconvene pretty soon and start writing again. We’ve had a couple of those sessions already. Then in a few weeks we get back together and write some more and pick studios and make the next record.
So it’s still pretty early in the process? Well, in the process of coming up with songs, we’re kind of halfway into it. But with us, you never know how long that could take. Every time we’ve ever recorded a record, we have way more songs than we actually put on that record. The self-imposed deadline of, “okay, now let’s book studio time,” that’s when you’re far into it. I’m sure after the next session, probably before the next session, that’s when we’ll decide studio time.

KA, personally i dont really like it that muchas a whole. I rarely listen to it and when i do its usually Non State Actor and Taree.... What I do like about the album is how songs like Tarree,Non State Actor,By Crooked Steps,Blood On The Valley Floor and Bones of Birds sound just like I was hoping SG would sound in anticipation of KA......Its just that some of those ^^^ songs have in them certain parts that i dont like which kinda takes away from them for me. ........and then the other half of the album i just dont really care for...... Its a good album....just not up to par with the standard they set with their older stuff.
Kim,that brother needs to step up his game. I just think he's slacking. His "coloring" over the rhythm section is stellar as usual, but aside from that he doesnt seem to do much. ...All his solos are usually just effects and noise and if he does play something that sounds melodic, its usually for like 3-4 seconds n than its back to his signature sounds that are starting to get repetitive. When i watch their more recent live shows half the time he isnt even playing anything but a note here n there. Matt is the exact opposite.....He's killing it 100% of the time. Matt to me is the driving force. ...n dont get me wrong, i love me some Kim.....I just wanna hear more.
I hope the next album is more guitar driven and a lil more uptempo (and heavy of course).....and thats coming from someone that LOVES their slower stuff. Matts gonna be pounding the drums as always...I just wanna hear the gee-tars blazing.

The Blender. Fuggeaddaboutit. that brother is a machine. Which is one reason why I like some of the latter tunes on KA. Attrition, Best Dreams and his fills on Eyelid's. black Saturday is funky cool, but not really wild about the interlude thingy. Speaking of Eyelid's, ya hear Kim going off on the left speaker but it's kinda quiet. But that tune was influenced by Bowie's diamond dog sound, so it's more geared on Cameron and a simplified backing guitar riff. Y'all right. More sludge n heavy come the next album. More Kim. Ya know the brother can bring it. I bet he's chilling with some Rolling rock's right now, blasting Sunn O))) or Boris Good interview with Ben. Thanks mah brothas. Ben, keeping it real. Ya peep the part while the Hater record was fun and great music, his first priority: Soundgarden. Ah yeah babe. Even back when the brother got his equipment jacked. He went from mackin steaks to fixing brakes. But in the meantime, put a hurting on Alan Thicke's ears. Ah yeahhh babe

Ben, that brother is all about SG....I wonder if he gets restless waiting for, what is it gonna be, like 5 years to make another album... It mystve been real rough the first go around, going from filling plates with juicy steaks to sitting on crates, fixing brakes.Spent all his dough, lost his place, was sleeping in alleys and on fire escapes......Fuggedaboudit....That poor brother was down n out. I liked his songs on KA....Taree and NSA sound like songs written while in SG mode. The first album (KA) came together pretty quick, probably in a whirlwind.....This time around, theyve had alot of time and have been back together as a band for a while.....Between the 4 of them, theyre going to have had a long time to come up with some goods....
Black saturday, i really like the verses....i just dont like the chorus/interlude which is the entire second half of the song. Same with Eyelids Mouth. I like the verses....Just dont like the chorus which drags on, and the solo......ehhh....it sounds like Kims going into his usual bag of tricks while being playful. Matt, the fills...fuggedaboudit.....Too good. They just grab your attention.

^^^ Ah yeahhhh babe. Mad flow mah brotha. Right off the cuff. Preach on brother Greek. Ben footloose Air Shepherd, that brother could be gettin antsy. Matt n Chris are out touring. Kim, who knows what that brother could be doin So he revisited the Hater album and dropped it on vinyl. So right about Black Saturday, Ben's funky bass lines drop in, but the song loses a bit of zest at the end. Although, I had spun KA fairly recently. A thousand days seems kinda quiet production wise, but a nice landscapey sound to it.

I came across this old performance a lil while ago on you tube.....Like the poster of the video says, listen to SG jam at the 5:10 minute mark....... Thats exactly what KA was missing, which is something along the lines of what i hope to hear some of on their next album,,,,That SG gangsta charisma tearing sh*t up....ah yeah babe..... Hearing that ^^^^, ...throw in some heavy riffs n some Cornell roars....fuggedaboudit.....Thats what SG is all about.....Ah yeah babe....
