Welcome to the officially unofficial Knights of the Soundtable Forum. We may have had a few casualties due to the war against spam but we will reunite and ride once again!
Raise the flag and spread the word to other former Knights and Soundgarden fanatics.
Please excuse the rush. I have put this forum together in a matter of minutes after discovering the untimely death of SoundgardenWorld Forum. I hope members will join the community. I will need help with moderation and hopefully someone can take over the job of forum Admin at some stage in the future.

Hey guys! Thank you for creating this forum, it'll be great if all the other knights join, just in case the official one truly gets taken down. At least there won't be any annoying spambots here!
Oh by the way, I'm Generator Harbinger from the other forum, just thought I'd change my username.

Oh by the way, I'm Generator Harbinger from the other forum, just thought I'd change my username. Hi and thanks for joining - the more the merrier. I am afraid that the forum most likely will be removed, this is exactly what they did with the forum on Chris Cornell's website. It is a shame and many people may not even know that the forum is going until it has already gone! I wish I could alert all members so they can join us here before Soundgarden blows the forum into a black hole. 3 days notice before closing down is stupid - I hope they extend the time if not reconsider the whole thing. Spread the word and if you have any ideas or suggestion to get ball rolling please post them. Cheers!

Yeah, it was an unexpected announcement, I thought it would stick around even though there hasn't been much going on there lately. Forums are much better for fans than Facebook, Twitter etc, it sucks that SG's management or whoever's in charge of the website decided to close it down, especially after 5 years and the great community that started there.

Its hard to believe it has been 5 years. The excitement and anticipation of the reunion and what the new album was going to sound like was crazy. I thought the day would never occur when we would actually see Soundgarden together and making new music. Kim recently mentioned they hope to release the next album in 2016... I can't wait to see what direction they take with the next album.
Long live the Garden!

Thanks for whipping this forum up. Too bad you can't migrate the archive from the SGW forum and merge it with this one. But shit happens.

Too bad i had missed the forum in the beginning. That was probably the best time. Just the whole new beginning and anticipation of what was to come. My computer had broken a while before that and i was in no hurry to get a new one. I felt i had been spending too much time on the comp and figured id use up my spare time in other ways. So i was "computerless" for a couple of years. So i dont remember how i came across Soundgardenworld but i remember whenever i was at my best friends house, which isnt often being that he lives like 60 miles away, i would check out SGworld and scroll through the forums. ....the first day i got my new comp, i went right to SGW and registered. That was the only forum ive ever registered for and been a part of. (recently i joined a couple of remote control car forums cause being im in the stage of my mid life crisis i figured i might as well start playing with toy cars) Out of everything out there, the only place that really interested me i really paticipating was a place with other SG fans. Reason being....Ive been listening to SG on the regular for the past 20 years. From the first instant i heard them (Outshined) i knew i had come across rock n roll perfection. It just struck me instantly."THIS IS IT RIGHT HERE!!" i remember at the time i was rreally into underground hip hop. Years before that i was into the usual suspects...Metallica,Slayer, Anthrax, Ozzy...some NYC hard core bands...Bad Brains,Suicidal tendencies etc....Def Leppard ,Motley Crue...Then i got into the underground hip hop in the early 90's which was an awesome time for it. There was this underground radio station from columbia university called wkcr fm 89.9 that had the premiere underground show in the country every thursday night from 1-5am. Every week were different guests....Nas, Jay Z, Biggie, Big L,Wutang, Mobb Deep, Gangstar, Black Moon ....guys from Cali....and they were getting on the mic every thursday night.... before they were famous. Before their first albums ever dropped...and it wasnt censored. It was before the fame when these guys were just rippig up right from the corner, before the money and fame. What a time in hip hop that was.....( its funny cause these days i cant stand hip hop...Aside from a occasional song which is rare in itself, i havent listend to it in over 15 years) Them i heard Outshined, and that was it. My musical expansion/horizons stopped right there. All of a sudden everything else didnt sound as good. SG was on such another level to me, everything else that i used to like just didnt sound as good any more. Enough of the rambling....
The whole purpose of these last few paragraphs is the fact that SG's music strikes me in such a way, that when i come across other SG fans who i know that something in SG struck a cord inside them just like it did me....We get it. These are my people.

I just signed up, I figured what the heck. I don't expect a ton of people to come here especially since this site was only mentioned there for maybe one day at the most, but we'll see what happens.
Like I said on the other forum, what will probably be missed the most is all the touring discussion, the individual show threads, setlists/review topics, the personal stories etc, and then of course all the news and updates and reaction when a new album is released. Even though they had a full tour in 2011, I think the height of activity there was during the 2 months leading up to the King Animal release, it was definitely crazy and hectic during that period.

Great that we have another forum. It would be cool if Soundgarden could link to this forum on the main site.
BTW: The old forum is still online.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking on the old forums for about 4 years and just when I thought about signing up, they take the forums down. Fortunately, I think this site will be the next great Soundgarden forum on the web.
As for my SG life story, I discovered Audioslave more than a decade ago. From there, I researched related bands and came up with Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, and Chris' solo work. I am heavily anticipating the next album from Soundgarden.
