Mr. Canada Post-man just delivered my copy...2 mins before I had to leave for work. Almost considered calling in sick, haha.
Will be cranking it in about 9 hours. Come on!! Soundgarden in high resolution, lossless surround sound, complete with gorgeous 30+ Mbps high definition 1080i60 AVC/MPEG-4 video? what a way to kick off the week-end!
I couldn't watch any of the YouTube or Facebook video previews, I wanted to wait for the BD and experience this the first time in the best quality possible. Oh this is going to be a long 9 hours...

Anyone else hanker after a simple standard vinyl edition with just the tracks from the concert that comes in at less than the £128 (or $150 US) the LP Box set costs? Like maybe a £20 version?

Anyone else hanker after a simple standard vinyl edition with just the tracks from the concert that comes in at less than the £128 (or $150 US) the LP Box set costs? Like maybe a £20 version? I love vinyl, but my answer is "no". This received a single digital mastering and it's fully dynamic (no loudness wars at play), adding another conversion to the process that would require 7 flips vs getting the original digital mastering with zero side breaks that can play right through (ie - by ripping the stereo track of the Blu-ray for the times I'm listening elsewhere in the house via 2-channel) as it was experienced at the time, it's just not my cup of tea. Have you ever seen a 4LP set for 20 quid out of curiousity? Like, new MSRP I mean? I do commiserate with those who don't have a digital playback chain at all, but for a release like this I just don't see the point of vinyl other than for the sheer love of the format itself outside of playback quality. I'm sure it sounds good given it's a good master, but my wallet and I are both happy we're format agnostic. Now, all analogue vinyl cuts from the original analogue stereo master like the ORG releases of the Nirvana catalogue? Hell yeah, I'm all in.
