Yes, very sad for Ben. ☹ I hope he finds other musicians to work with.
I hate when people suggest SG should replace Chris. Are you serious??? Chris is IRREPLACEABLE. He is different than other vocalists. You cannot substitute him. 😟

^ No doubt. Any one of the 4 and it's... well, defunct. But especially Chris. Look at how many singers Blind Melon has tried. Sublime has that Rome dude now, but still not the same. Hoon and Brad had long time struggles. I guess maybe Chris did, but his passing was so outta left field sudden. All a crazy accident anyway. AIC's albums are good ones post Layne, but again, not the original grit and thunder with Layne.. and Mike Starr as well. Sigh. this one's been on repeat all night www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXfotExUX8A

I love Live on I-5. Out of all the times I saw Soundgarden my favourite was the Vancouver show in '96. Everytime I listen to Live on I-5 it takes me right back that tour. Even the way it's mixed is exactly like I remember it sounding.... Ive been rocking this one lately.....n blasting it.... Good interview. especially around 37 min. till the end. The mention of SG tunes ready to record? Hard to hear him in some moments. Some similarity between Chris and Natasha. Though I doubt it was some long plan Chris decided to do. Didn't know she's also resting at HFC and not far from the Rev. Speaking of EM. Lawdy. track 4, finally listened to it. Water works still creepin out 4 months later. And that's just one song. Dam son. Gotta keep at it. So many other personal faves ya gotta spin.

Its not getting any easier with time. As John Homme said, "time wounds all heals". My favorite musician is gone. 2017 blows.

This brother laid out some nice words. Another music talent Chris saw n took him under wing. from his facebook: www.facebook.com/chriscornell/The Impact of Chris Cornell "When I first met Chris he said to me, “Man I saw you on Youtube, you were playing in the street, and I just stayed up all night watching your stuff.” Someone had sent him a link to Fantastic Negrito. Mutual parties connected us and my name surfaced as a potential tour opener on his “Higher Truth” tour. I was kind of hoping I would not get the gig because I thought I was too roots, blues and edgy to be paired with the Rock God, Chris Cornell. But credit to him, he thought if you listen to Soundgarden and strip it down, you can find roots music there too. He had the vision and just knew. He was right. The first time I opened for Chris was in Oslo. I was nervous because people were sitting down. After my set, I went to the side of the stage and watched Chris. His body language taught me there was a way to do it, and then I realized I could do it. I can to play to people sitting down now because of Chris. He was my teacher in many ways. He was also my biggest supporter. The biggest lesson Chris Cornell taught me was that no matter what position you are in, being a loving, giving person was most important. Aside from him being one of the best vocalists rock music has ever had he was such a loving and giving person. He didn’t act like some big star. He’d come knock on my door each night and see how I was doing. I started calling him Christmas Cornell. Every time he would call me it would be something amazing. We went to Europe, I thanked him and told him how special it was. Then he’d call me and ask if I wanted to come open on the American run. After the third time, when he called to open for Temple of the Dog, I immediately thought — “Christmas Cornell”. I’m the only band that only opened for Temple of the Dog, it’s unbelievable and it was such an amazing experience. He’d always say, “you’re a force.” He had a heart of gold. I would go to shake his hand and he would hug me." - Fantastic Negrito www.chriscornell.com

^ Thanks for the post. The brother Jack Marino's last few sentences... sigh. yep, spot on. Kim looked like he was about to, which almost made me do so. Maybe the former Mrs. still has business ties with the band. Weird, I hadn't been thinking about chris the past week or two. Not that I don't think about him daily, but the sad waves hadn't hit.... till today though. Realized it around 2 yrs. ago the last time I saw him in concert. Everytime Like a Stone (though not really one of my Audioslave faves) comes on the radio, still cannot listen to C's singing after the solo. So alas, change the station or mute the sound. And Rip the brother Tom Petty. Again, much too young.

I still cant believe the Reverend is gone....Its just not right. .....and then the fact that he was just a good dude....a genuine and kind brother.... Its just messed up...
and i was thinking about it....Look at all the comments all over youtube and the net in general..."the G.O.A.T" ...Best ever" ..."Incomparable" etc etc etc.....All those thousands of comments along those lines hold weight. Theyre legit. How many other musicians can those comments be said for and be legit....and how many would garner those comments....Hardly any. Thats why this one is so hard for us fans.....Cause we know that we lost the greatest. Every one has favorite musicians....but us SG fans favorite musician was legitimately "the best"....We know what was lost....n it sucks
