The Spoonman episode was better IMO, it had more depth. The Outshined ep seems to quickly lose interest in everything besides Chris's voice. Well what's the matter with that, you ask? Well, I would've liked a bit more focus on Matt. Outshined is the perfect straightforward hard rock drum track, IMO, from a drummer who could be off-the-wall creative. So smooth, makes 7/4 sound like 4/4. Totally hard-driving. And those hi-hat fills on the bridge... just gorgeous.
Rick just last week uploaded ep 92, and it was his 3rd Pearl Jam feature, so I think PJ have the honour of being the first band to have 3 songs profiled. I'm kind of hoping he'll do My Wave next. It was an SG single, although not hugely successful, but I'd like to see what Rick makes of how Matt made the 5/4 sound so smooth, the weird 2-note guitar tuning, Kim's arpeggio flourishes... and of course Chris's tsunami force vocals.
