Hey all. Just sitting here on a Saturday night, listening to some of his live performances while cooking supper. I have always been one of those people who Pursues learning music, weather it’s guitar or singing, but have never been one to go to school for it. I see a meme the other day that said “70% of the worlds talent will never be found due to a lack of confidence”....and I can totally understand that. I base everything I do musically around Chris Cornell, Eddie vedde, lane Staley...because I feel that the era and music scene around that time produced some of the best musicians of all time. I can’t be nieve enough to think that his wife or kids or family will ever read this, but you know how when you were a kid, and you saw Superman or Batman on tv? Well Chris was a superhero to me. I’m a 200 pound Canadian man, works in heavy equipment....and cried my eyes out when he died. He was absolutely everything I wanted to strive to be even a shadow of musically. Not saying in any way that I could ever be as good by any stretch, but that’s who I would like to be like. Have you watched his unplugged sets? He doesn’t miss a note. I feel so horrible for his family and friends, and feel like I lost a family member. I’m shy and don’t sing in front of others, even though I know I can. Especially after singing to his songs, alone, in the cab of a huge machine all day, every day. 10 hours a day, 6 days a week. If you sing...play an instrument....take a leap or a chance. Get yourself out there. But not for the money...but to do it because you love it. Maybe we can see more like Chris in the future.

It felt like i lost a family member myself. Im a grown man working in construction and i can still get teary eyed when watching something of his. Something in a certain video might strike me,whatever it may be. He was the best. To me, he blows all the other great singers out the water. His voice could penetrate your emotions. .... never mind the power, range, tone etc.... Grunge pioneer...revitalized hard rock..incredible song writer...incredible lyricist...incredible discography..true to self artist...could play whatever instrument you want....and thats not even mentioning that he had what i consider the best best voice of all time..... Undeniably one of the greats of the greats
