no one will ever replace Chris. But soundgarden needs to carry on. Rather than trying to find someone who sounds like Chris they need to go in a totally different direction. Here’s a stroke of genius I had the other day while running in the woods listening to my MP3 player on shuffle. The day I tried to live followed by gansta by tune-yards, and then it hit me. Soundgarden needs to merge with Tune Yards to create a new band, named either tune garden or sound-yards. They would play both soundgarden and tuneyards songs in a fusion of the sounds of both groups. Can you imagine a soundgardenized version of Gangsta or a tune-yardified version of the day I tried to live? It’s not the continuation of either project. It’s a fusion of both. It was meant to be. Their respective names are already synonyms.

What are you on, bath salt?? I love you, Nick. Anyway, it's ridiculous to say they should go on and tour or make albums without Chris. Those three guys have great musical chemistry, so I would hope they continue to work together in the future, maybe helping each other on solo albums and that sort of thing, but they won't be Soundgarden. Soundgarden died with Chris (that was a really painful sentence to type). Anyway, who are they going to try and replace him with anyway? Zack de la Rocha? Matt, Kim and Ben never seemed like the types of people to go and say, "Hey, if it doesn't work out with Chris, maybe we can call up William DuVall." They seemed to understand that Soundgarden would cease to be Soundgarden if any of the members from 1991 onward left the band or (God, this sucks) died. I'm not shitting on AiC or Stone Temple Pilots for wanting to move on, but I sort of am. It's just not the same when a band changes singers, and it really wouldn't be the same if Soundgarden tried to replace ANY of their members since Ben joined (not that Hiro Yamamoto was necessarily dispensable; he was great). The Badmotorfinger-Down on the Upside lineup is the lineup most of us came to know and love as Soundgarden. That lineup made history and is absolutely iconic. If you ask me, Matt, Kim and Ben are too authentic and have too much artistic integrity to pull a move like replacing Chris. The first thing you wrote was "no one will ever replace Chris." I couldn't have said it better myself, and that's exactly why there won't be a "new singer."

Nice job. Killer vocals and well executed on guitar. Not easy on acoustic.
