I know it's still early days about what's in the "can" concerning recordings - the shock still hasn't left… I hope I don't step on any toes by summing up about what's left of Cornell related music:
When it comes to post releases. What is out there of info:
Solo stuff: Brendan O'Brien talked about sessions that has been done for a cover album with Paul Buckmaster doing string arrangements. And there could easily be some sort of compilation of all the non album soundtrack songs.
Wasn't the Temple of the Dog shows filmed and recorded for release? They played a lot of covers on the tour...
Audioslave? Tom Morello has talked about studio outtakes in interviews but how many and were they up to "standard"?
How far along was the Soundgarden album? Between 6-7 demos recorded together to further songs rehearsed and maybe they had demo's send back and forth on mail? Matt, Kim And Chris are all on record concerning the next album. And they all say it was not finished but there are songs that have been demo'ed. With the quality of the King Animal demos we can hope they are release worthy down the line. If Chris vocals are on separate tracks they could finish the music in a "real" studio. That could be a weird situation for the rest of the guys but also a chance to work together though some of the sorrow with a sense of purpose - finishing up some music that for all intentions Chris worked on with the others and wanted released at some point. It could turnout to be a great homage to Chris in the spirit of Temple Of The Dog.
According to Chris "solo band" guitar player Pete Yorns youtube speech - about his time with Cornell - he had provided Chris with state of the art recording equipment (at Chris request and on Chris dime) and that he had set it up and they were on email concerning this - so there is probably a lot of recordings on Cornells computer drive. "Seasons" was a home recording back in 92' and "Sweet Euphoria" the title song is also recorded at Chris home - so I expect Chris home recordings are mostly top notch.
Personally I hope we get at least the Temple shows and that Soundgarden find some way to release what they have - maybe finish what they can and release it - it would be Chris swan song finished of by the three guys and maybe - in case of missing or too scratchy "rehearsal room vocals" - with help from other vocalists like Eddie, Lanegan and maybe even Chris brother who has a lot of the same qualities in his voice that Chris had and the same vocal range as Chris.
Sort of what Mike McCready and Barrett Martin did with Mad Season instrumentals from 1996 where Mark Lanegan came in and finished three tracks for the reissue of "Above".
Otherwise there should a lot of live shows recorded through the years with his bands SG And Audioslave and solo that could be released down the line.

When it comes to post releases. I do hope that in time we will get to hear some unreleased music, but I wouldn't be overly surprised if we never get to hear these tracks they were demoing for the next album. I really hope I'm wrong, but either way it will be quite some time. If they do choose to release them I hope we can hear both the raw demos in the current state - a snapshot of the incomplete album in addition to any tracks which are finalised after Chris' death. If there are instrumental tracks then I would like to hears those as well and however sad it is to do, imagine Chris singing on them. Maybe he had some lyrics written down and ready to go but didn't get the vocals down. I think the Temple of the Dog shows would be the most likely to get released and I'm sure Mike McCready in particular would be interested in this getting released. I think Chris was really finding his feet with his solo career. He always wanted to try something new and it makes me sad to think what was on the horizon that we will never get to hear. Whilst I'm not usually a fan of cover albums I really think Chris would have nailed this and released a very worthy album to sit alongside his other releases. He has proven himself to master the reinvention of other artists songs and make them his own during his live performances. Just think of the U2 / Metallica One mashup which is genius, Michael Jackson's Billie Jean which takes on an entirely new atmosphere, Led Zeppelin's Thankyou, John Lenon's Imagine, Prince's Nothing Compares to you, The Beatles Ticket to Ride & A day in the life.... and the list goes on and on! I know I don't need to point this out but the guy was a genius no matter what band he was in or whose music he was playing. Chris offered the world so much through his music, yet he had so much more to share.

He found his feet as much as he was ever going to imo with Euphoria Morning. Well that is very true. It wasn't really the right expression I guess, but it did feel like he was really firing up his solo career with his live shows without a backing band and the many soundtrack releases lately. I felt like we could have expected loads more music coming from Chris in the not too distant future, but sadly no more.

While I don't want to take anything away from Euphoria Mourning, as good as it is...
I have to defer to Mr. Cornell, who said his idea of himself as an artist coalesced & changed when he really found his footing with the acoustic touring. He seemed...freer, musically. He spoke to that, understanding he could sing anything he was drawn to, and arrange and collaborate at will.
I hope I don't ever have to make a choice about listening to CC vocals finished by someone else.
I don't have any particular info., but, personally, wouldn't infer much from CC's work on Jeff Buckley's recordings. JB's Mom was bound & determined to release them; CC may've just wanted to do right by Jeff since it was happening anyway.
As much as I'd love new material, I hope CC's remaining recordings aren't over-mined.
Live Temple sounds like the surest--maybe soonest--bet now.

The last few years seemed to find him really finding some solid ground. Solo career wise, I never really followed him. I always loved Soundgarden, and loved King Animal when it came out. I think he kept his best tunes for Soundgarden...apart from Seasons.

Were there any King Animal outtakes? There were several demo versions available on the deluxe editions, but I don't know of any unknown songs. Would be nice!

Personally, the more of his music that is released the better...for me. If there is enough material for the rest of the band (SG) to finish uo this album that was gonna come out, ....I would be thrilled to hear it. ....And im sure Cornell has a bunch of quality recordings through the years from his home studio.. ...also when Songbookk came out, those were songs from various different shows which probably all got recorded....There have to be a ton of awesome performances from the song book tour out there.... ....and the covers album he was supposedly working on..... Call it selfish...call it whatever.....I hope it all gets released...By people who will make sure to do it justice. I just wanna hear him sing.

They all seemed psyched for the new album, so I'd see it as a fitting tribute and hopefully hear some mega heavy tracks. As a band, you want people to hear your songs, that's how I've always seen it as working.

Its been, i dunno, almost 5 years i think since king animal was released....There has to have been a bunch of stuff done in that time frame...I guess it would mostly depend on what kinda of vocals were recorded...I did hear Chris mention in some article not all that long ago when talking about the upcoming album something to the effect of he hadnt really recorded vocals for it yet which gave the impression of the album being further away then what they had previously stated....but then mentioned when they actually do get to the studio, they work pretty quick....I dunno.... Personally i would think he had a bunch of stuff recorded for it....When they said they had about half the songs for an album, Im sure Chris has some vocals laid down ....
